November 6, 2015 (Toronto, ON) – Ready to prove that a little bit of heart truly does go a long way, Ottawa’s own River Town Saints are set to take the Canadian country scene by storm. Writing music and performing together in hometown bars since early 2015, this five-piece harmony-driven group has had their dreams come true all year. Stepping out onto the national stage as the newest signing to Open Road Recordings, River Town Saints are celebrating the release of their debut single ‘A Little Bit GoesA Long Way.’ Available for download today, the track is slated to be a fast fan-favourite at country radio stations across Canada.

Brought together by their respect for songwriting and performance, the band is home to life-long friends Chris Labelle, Chris McComb, Jeremy Bortot, Jordan Potvin and Daniel DiGiacomo. Enamoured with their early hometown success, the band quickly set their sights for Nashville, with dreams of tours and full-length albums as their driving force. This eventually led to Open Road Recordings founder, Ron Kitchener inviting them to Nashville, where a showcase for the ORR/RGK team proved that they were not a group to pass up.

“Signing with RGK/Open Road is a dream come true,” explains Chris Labelle. “I’d been trying to get Ron Kitchener’s attention for years so I’ll never forget the day I got the call.” The chemistry between the band and Open Road was apparent as soon as it came time to select the first single. “After listening to and writing songs for the past year, it was a no brainer when the label came to us and presented ‘A Little Bit Goes A Long Way’. Hearing the first hook, I knew that this song was what River Town Saints is all about.”

Earning attention from key online media outlets, rave reviews of their performances alongside Tim Hicks on his College Throwdown Tour and solo performances in Bala, ON, and the 2015 CCMA Awards in Halifax, River Town Saints will continue to introduce themselves to Canada’s country music fans throughout the fall. Along with upcoming shows in Hamilton (November 24th) and Kitchener (November 25th), the band is currently on a national radio tour in promotion of their debut track.

To follow the band through their first cross-country journey, be sure to keep a close eye on all of River Town Saints’ social platforms and join the conversation using #ALittleBitGoesALongWay.

The Sirius XM Kickoff Show will feature 2014 Juno Award and 10-time CCMA Award winning artist Dean Brody. Brody’s most recent album Gypsy Road has earned him his second PLATINUM single, “Bring Down The House.” Recently wrapping a 22-city, 7000 km national tour, Brody will head to Nashville in early 2016 to perform at The Grand Ole Opry.

“I always have a great time in Winnipeg but playing at the Grey Cup – Canada’s greatest sporting party is going to be awesome,” Brody stated. “As a kid, nothing was bigger than my dream to be a punter in the CFL. I won’t get to punt on November 29 but I will get to play music and that’s definitely cool. The guys and I can’t wait!”

This year, the Canadian national anthem will be performed by Quebec singer-songwriter Bobby Bazini. The two-time Juno Award nominee will perform the anthems in both French and English prior to kickoff. Bobby Bazini’s 2014 album Where I Belong was one of the best-selling albums in Canada.

Dean Brody & Paul Brandt Road Trip Tour Wraps in Halifax

October 27th, 2015

After travelling more than 7000 km from coast to coast, JUNO and CCMA Award winners Dean Brody and Paul Brandt have packed up and headed home. Wrapping up what will go down in history as Canada’s largest co-headlining country tour, Brody and Brandt’s Road Trip Tour delivered encore-worthy performances to more than 71,000 fans in 22 Canadian cities, making it 2015’s biggest country success.

Kicking off in Victoria late last month, the Road Trip Tour was brought to life not only by the electric performances delivered by Brody and Brandt. Fuelled by Ford Canada, this tour provided fans with the unique opportunity to take part in an epic scavenger hunt with winners earning the opportunity to attend a meet and greet event with two of Canada’s most celebrated musicians.

“I’ve always said that touring is the best way to celebrate our amazing country,” said Brody. “This tour allowed us to do even more than that. Working with Ford we were able to celebrate our fans – the people who continue to support us and allow us to do what we love. I am so thankful we had the opportunity to do that night after night after night.”

With media singing the praises of the live show – “Overall … Brody hit all the bases. [He] and his hard-working five-piece band were a cut above the usual hats.” (Edmonton Sun) – it was the fans who captured the excitement and shared via social media, creating more than 2 million social impressions:

“Thank you all SO much for putting on a mind blowing show!”
– @acker_mandy

“@deanbrody @paulbrandt in Halifax was the best concert I’ve ever been to amazing show!”
– @seanbently14

“We couldn’t have completed this tour without Ford Canada and we are so thankful for their support,” explained Brandt. “An event of this magnitude does not happen without the help of many and both Dean and I are incredibly grateful to everyone – fans, crew, management – who worked diligently to help us deliver shows that our audiences will remember for a lifetime.”

While Brody and Brandt will enjoy some much deserved down time for the remainder of October, both will be back with exciting announcements later in the fall. Fans are encouraged to stay tuned via Twitter/Facebok/Instagram for full updates.

October 9, 2015 (Toronto, ON) – After three extremely successful albums on Open Road Recordings, the entire ORR team is proud to celebrate brother duo High Valley hitting the milestone sought by every Canadian artist – signing a major U.S. deal. It was announced yesterday that High Valley has signed with Atlantic Records/Warner Music Nashville.

This does not mark the end of the relationship between Open Road and the Rempel brothers. With the recent release of High Valley’s brand new single ‘Come On Down,’ the duo will continue to work with Canada’s #1 country music label for the duration of their most successful album to date, County Line. With three 2015 CCMA Award nominations for the album, resulting in a win for 2015 Group or Duo of the Year, this record has produced four Top Ten singles, including a Top Five hit and two back to back #1 videos on CMT for their radio hits ‘Make You Mine’ and ‘She’s With Me’.

“I’m very proud of Brad and Curtis for gaining the attention in the US that all determined acts strive for,” said ORR President Ron Kitchener. “We look forward to continuing to push the fantastic County Line album and their catalogue, and will enjoy watching them take over America!“

Throughout their time on Open Road, High Valley has grown to see skyrocketing success. In addition to a JUNO Award nomination, the group has seen nine CCMA Award nominations and two CCMA Award wins (2013 Interactive Artist of the Year and 2015 Group or Duo of the Year). From humble beginnings to top charting singles, Open Road Recordings is proud to have played a role in the duo’s incredible growth and is looking forward to continuing the momentum with County Line.

To follow the band on this exciting journey, fans are encouraged to download the official High Valley app at www.highvalleymusic.com/app.

September 15, 2015 (Halifax, NS) – Recognized as Canada’s most respected country label and management company, Open Road Recordings and RGK are celebrating today as roster members Dean Brody, High Valley and Madeline Merlo take home three 2015 Canadian Country Music Association Awards. With wins in Video of the Year, Group or Duo of the Year and Rising Star categories, Open Road earned the most broadcast award wins, demonstrating its incredible ability to foster the outstanding talent found in Canada.

Performing his GOLD single ‘Bring Down The House’ in front of 11,000 of his fellow Nova Scotians at the Scotiabank Centre last night, Dean Brody is no stranger to the Canadian country music industry. In fact, some may say that with the release of his latest album, Gypsy Road, he is the genre’s leading man. His win for Video of the Year marked his 14th CCMA Award and kicks off the extensive Road Trip Tour, which sees him making stops in 22 cities across the country alongside Paul Brandt as of September 24.

Earning two #1 spots on CMT with singles ‘Make You Mine’ and ‘She’s With Me,’ High Valley has quickly become country music’s most successful sibling duo. Performing on last night’s broadcast, their win for Group or Duo of the Year marks the Rempel brothers’ second. Fans will have the ability to catch up with these award-winning brothers this October as they head out on tour in support of their recently released full-length album, County Line.

Becoming an immediate fan favourite with her heartfelt acceptance speech, Madeline Merlo rounded out the roster’s wins when she took home the award for Rising Star. Definitely deserved, this recognition will see the B.C. native heading into a fall of incredible projects – a role in her first full-length feature film alongside Sophie Simmons (Country Crush), the release of her new single ‘Honey Jack’ and a fall tour with label mate Dean Brody. It is without question that Canada has not seen the last of Madeline Merlo – in fact, it is very safe to say that this is just the beginning.

ORR and RGK are proud to extend congratulations to each of their 2015 CCMA Award winners. Together they also celebrated alongside Tim Hicks who was presented an award for his 4th GOLD single ‘Here Comes The Thunder’ live on stage at Fanfest the day before performing his new single ‘Young, Alive and in Love’ on the CCMA Awards stage.

Fans of ORR artists are encouraged to stay tuned via social media for roster announcements throughout the fall.
