Stock up, because country legends Doc Walker will release “Sicka Whiskey” to Canadian country music radio on September 27th. This is the second single from their 2017 album, Weathervane.
Written by Chris Thorsteinson, Dave Wasyliw and Murray Pulver, “Sicka Whiskey” is a classic song about the healing that happens from a barstool after you get your heart broken. And while “Sicka Whiskey” is a song about being unlucky in love, it still has the catchy lyrics and strong guitar-driven hints of rock n roll that round out the characteristic Doc Walker sound.

“We love how relatable “Sicka Whiskey” is as a song,” says lead singer, Chris Thorsteinson. “We’ve all been there, and we wanted to pay homage to those classic country songs about getting over someone with a bit of help from your favourite brand of 90 proof.”
With over 20 Top 10 singles in total, Doc Walker is one of the most recognized Canadian country acts of the past two decades. The group has received multiple Canadian Country Music Awards, including Fans’ Choice, Group or Duo of the Year, CMT Video of the Year, Single of the Year, and Country Music Program or Special of the Year. In addition, Doc Walker has been nominated for several JUNO Awards for Country Album of the Year, including a win in 2009 for the album Beautiful Life.
The band released their latest album, Weathervane in March, 2017 and recently kicked off the famous Boots and Hearts Festival this summer. Fans can visit docwalker.ca for details on upcoming show dates.
