TIM HICKS EP AVAILABLE NOW
Toronto, ON – (June 11, 2013) – Hot on the heels of having his very first radio single certified Gold – one of Canada’s fastest rising music stars – Tim Hicks has announced the release of his highly anticipated debut album “Throw Down” on August 27th. “Get By” the Top 10 lead single from the album, rocketed up the charts and spent 17 weeks as the No. 1 selling Canadian Country single on iTunes with over 40,000 tracks sold to date.
Additionally, Hicks’s second single, “Hell Raisin’ Good Time” was the No. 1 most added song at Canadian Country Radio last week. The chugging rocker was also the No. 1 added track at Canadian radio overall – all formats – proving to be an unyielding preview of the artistry and music mastery to come on “Throw Down”. With over 35 million audience impressions at radio, he’s successfully doing his part to help define a genre that celebrates growing up in small towns, hard work, savouring every experience and living life completely.
Hicks exploded onto the scene earlier this year, building a strong fan base with “Get By” the No. 1 Canadian song at Country radio for four weeks and his No. 1 selling self-titled EP. Proclaimed the ‘One To Watch’ by fans and the industry alike, the Niagara based singer-songwriter has literally dominated Canadian Country radio and video airplay during the first half of the year. A lyric video for the whimsical album track “Stronger Beer” become an instant viral smash adding to the 700,000+ views on Hicks’ YouTube channel.
Recorded in Nashville, TN, and co-written by Hicks, the soon to be hit record boasts equal parts grit, fun and camaraderie. Poised and impactful from conception to execution, the track list for the album is one created and crafted with experience only years of touring and performing can bring. Already connected to a devoted fan base, Hicks’ fast rising success story is noteworthy – highlighting the strong pulse for Country music in Canada.
