ITUNES PRE-SALE LAUNCHES JULY 8th

Thursday, June 26th, Toronto, ON – Breakthrough Country star Tim Hicks will release his highly anticipated sophomore album on Tuesday August 5th, via Open Road Recordings / Universal Music Canada. 5:01, the follow-up to the award-winning #1 debut album Throwdown, marks Hicks’ second full-length album in two years, and includes the lead smash single, “Here Comes The Thunder.”

Produced by Jeff Coplan (Love & Theft, Blackjack Billy), 5:01 features 12 brand new tracks, co-written by Hicks, Coplan and nine other #1 writers, including Todd Clark (Phillip Phillips), Phil Barton (Lee Brice) and Preston Brust (Keith Urban), and features guest appearances by Blackjack Billy, Madeline Merlo and The Road Hammers’ Clayton Bellamy.

The lead single “Here Comes The Thunder” reached Top 5 on the iTunes Canada Country chart upon release, and was the #1 most added song at Canadian radio. The official video, shot in Nashville, TN, by award-winning director Adam Rothlein, premiered May 23rd exclusively on CMT.

On June 11th, Hicks announced that “Here Comes The Thunder” had been selected by SiriusXM’s THE HIGHWAY, as the channel’s new “Highway Find.” “Here Comes The Thunder” is Hicks’ fifth radio single in Canada, but first to impact American airwaves.

2013 CCMA & 2014 JUNO-nominated Hicks was the #1 highest selling digital Canadian Country artist of 2013 and the #1 Most Played Debut Artist overall at Country radio. He was awarded the all-genre Breakthrough Artist Of The Year award at the 2014 Canadian Radio Music Awards (CRMA’s), and the Male Artist Of The Year award at last month’s Country Music Association of Ontario Awards (CMAO’s). Throw Down, Hicks’ critically praised first album, debuted #1 week of release and features four Top 10 radio hits, including the GOLD-certified “Get By” & “Hell Raisin’ Good Time” (also a #1 video on CMT), plus the viral hit “Stronger Beer,” which is approaching 1 MILLION YouTube hits. Combined, Hicks has sold over 200,000 digital downloads to date.
