BAND HEADS OUT ON CROSS-CANADA RADIO TOUR
November 6, 2015 (Toronto, ON) – Ready to prove that a little bit of heart truly does go a long way, Ottawa’s own River Town Saints are set to take the Canadian country scene by storm. Writing music and performing together in hometown bars since early 2015, this five-piece harmony-driven group has had their dreams come true all year. Stepping out onto the national stage as the newest signing to Open Road Recordings, River Town Saints are celebrating the release of their debut single ‘A Little Bit GoesA Long Way.’ Available for download today, the track is slated to be a fast fan-favourite at country radio stations across Canada.
Brought together by their respect for songwriting and performance, the band is home to life-long friends Chris Labelle, Chris McComb, Jeremy Bortot, Jordan Potvin and Daniel DiGiacomo. Enamoured with their early hometown success, the band quickly set their sights for Nashville, with dreams of tours and full-length albums as their driving force. This eventually led to Open Road Recordings founder, Ron Kitchener inviting them to Nashville, where a showcase for the ORR/RGK team proved that they were not a group to pass up.
“Signing with RGK/Open Road is a dream come true,” explains Chris Labelle. “I’d been trying to get Ron Kitchener’s attention for years so I’ll never forget the day I got the call.” The chemistry between the band and Open Road was apparent as soon as it came time to select the first single. “After listening to and writing songs for the past year, it was a no brainer when the label came to us and presented ‘A Little Bit Goes A Long Way’. Hearing the first hook, I knew that this song was what River Town Saints is all about.”
Earning attention from key online media outlets, rave reviews of their performances alongside Tim Hicks on his College Throwdown Tour and solo performances in Bala, ON, and the 2015 CCMA Awards in Halifax, River Town Saints will continue to introduce themselves to Canada’s country music fans throughout the fall. Along with upcoming shows in Hamilton (November 24th) and Kitchener (November 25th), the band is currently on a national radio tour in promotion of their debut track.
