OPEN ROAD RECORDINGS CELEBRATE FOUR 2012 CCMA AWARDS


DEAN BRODY WINS MALE ARTIST AND ALBUM OF THE YEAR AT THE 2012 CCMA AWARDS

Toronto, ON – Dean Brody wins Album of the Year for his latest release, Dirt, for the second consecutive year at the CCMA Awards. Newly crowned as Male Artist of the Year, Brody opened the CCMA broadcast last night, performing his hit single, “Canadian Girls.”

The five time CCMA Award winner Dean Brody celebrates with the announcement today of his first national headlining tour which will kick off in January 2013. Brody’s third studio album, Dirt, catapulted his career, debuting at #1 on the iTunes Canadian Country Charts this April. Additionally, the first single “Canadian Girls” hit #1 on the country radio charts and was recently certified Gold. His second single, “Bob Marley,” has reached #2 at Canadian Country radio and he just released his new single, “It’s Friday,” featuring Great Big Sea on September 7.

For its fourth year in a row, Open Road Recordings was honoured to win Record Company of the Year. President Ron Kitchener’s management company RGK Entertainment Group Inc. was awarded Management Company of the Year, an award it has won 12 times in the past. The label also took home Album Design of the Year for Dean Brody’s Dirt.

The CCMA Awards telecast included live performances by multiple Open Road Recordings nominees including Dean Brody and High Valley. Additionally, Doc Walker and Emerson Drive came together for the world exclusive performance of their brand new song “Let It Roll,” which will appear on Emerson Drive’s new album slated for release in October 2012.
