Award Winning Canadian Country Music Singer Tara Oram Releases Sophomore Album REVIVAL

Canadian Country Music Award winning artist Tara Oram is set to release her sophomore album, Revival (Open Road Recordings / Universal Music Canada) on July 19, 2011. Off the success of her debut album in 2009, Oram returns with a vibrant new take on traditional country and pop music. The album’s lead single, 1929, is in the Top 40 on the Country radio charts and was the #1 Most Added Canadian song for two weeks after its release. The video for 1929 is currently the #1 Most Played Canadian video on CMT Canada.

“The word “excited” for this new album would be an understatement,” proclaims Oram. “It’s been almost two years in the making and a lot of time has been spent putting the puzzle pieces together to create an album that truly reflects the music I love and more importantly, love to perform. I hope country music lovers adore this project as much as I do. That’s my ultimate goal and would be my biggest accomplishment.”

Echoing the sounds of classic country music, Revival includes 12 tracks that define the Newfoundland native’s present state of happiness and dedication to her roots in country music. 1929 is a playful song filled with traditional fiddles and steel guitars that lyrically coincides with the album’s positive message. Songs Easier Not To and Overalls continue to showcase Oram’s powerful vocal range and glowing attitude of pushing through the hardships of lost love by remaining optimistic.

Signed to Open Road Recordings in 2008, the songstress has received multiple CCMA, ECMA and JUNO nominations. In 2009, after hitting the top 15 with all three singles (538 Stars, Fly Girl, Go to Bed Angry) from her debut album, Chasing The Sun, Oram took home the CCMA Rising Star award and an ECMA for Country Recording of the Year. Most recognized for her time spent on season five of Canadian Idol and her CMT reality show, The Tara Diaries, Oram continues to prove her diversity as an artist and entertainer.

As the official spokesperson for the Sparkles of Hope bracelet campaign, in association with The Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation, Oram joined the Newfoundland and Labrador cause to raise awareness and support for those who have lost loved ones to the disease. To date, Sparkles of Hope has raised $3.5 million since its launch in 2010.

In addition to Oram’s dedication to working with campaigns close to her heart, she has also collaborated with Terri Clark, Emerson Drive and Dean Brody on the single, Standing Strong and True (For Tomorrow). Dedicated to Canada’s fallen soldiers and their families, all proceeds raised for the single, went to the Military Families Fund and Boomer’s Legacy. Oram also helped organize a local benefit to raise funds for her fans, family and friends in Newfoundland that were affected by Hurricane Igor.

Having shared the stage with acts ranging from Marty Stuart to country superstar Taylor Swift, Oram will celebrate the release of her sophomore album this summer performing throughout Canada with Kenny Chesney, Lady Antebellum and Rascal Flatts.

“Tara Oram is back and it is like a breath of fresh air for country music!  Her unique combination of beauty, personality, and vocal range makes for an extraordinarily compelling artist.   It’s great to hear new music from Tara on country radio in Alberta!”

“I love 1929!  It’s a nice refreshing modern throwback to the 20′s that’ll get your feet moving.  Response to 1929 has been great at KG Country and it seems as though it’s one of our most requested songs.  I cannot wait to hear “Revival” in from start to finish, especially if the rest of it is filled with as much of Tara’s personality as 1929 is. The song is fun, the video is fun and Tara is fun!”
